When it comes to fighting poverty, moms are the real heroes. Since the beginning, we have met mothers who wanted their daughters to no longer miss school or feel ashamed about themselves simply because they lacked access to affordable menstrual products and health education.
These mothers also wanted to build better futures for themselves and their families. That's why we're investing in them- as farmers, as pad makers, and soon, as entrepreneurs - to launch sustainable business across Rwanda, and soon, globally.
Meet Nadine, and her daughter, Barbara, age 4:"I am inspired to go to work everyday because I am producing something helpful for girls and women. Working at a factory is never static - I enjoy being active at my job."
This year, we celebrated Mother's Day with our Ngoma production team by inviting our team's children to visit their moms at work. We asked their children what they most appreciate about their mothers, and their responses (and photos) are too charming not to share!
