Quarter 2 Report: Wonder Woman Edition

What are you doing to create the world you want?

When was the last time you turned on the news and heard something unequivocally positive? Don't worry- it's not just you. The bright side to the grim headlines? It has never been clearer that we all have a responsibility to take part in building the world we want.

We’re proof that collaborative action works. Investors and believers like you have enabled sustainable change and extended access to affordable pads to over 18,000 women.

We know after years of building SHE28 that we need everyone to use their skills to work towards a common cause. You can hear directly from our very own SHE-roes using their individual strengths, such as sales expertise and design savvy to improve lives daily.

SHE By The Numbers (as of Q2)

SHE Superpower: Saleswoman extraordinaire

Did you know that every two minutes, SHE sells another pad? One of the reasons we're growing so quickly might be Marie- Louise's commitment to understanding the consumer's full journey to purchasing pads

“We are expanding our reach so quickly now! I love selling go! pads in new districts because I know girls who do not have much money can buy pads for the first time. This quarter has been busy- in just 1.5 months, we sold to over 50 new kiosks. I love interviewing women in new districts to learn where, when, and how they shop for the things they need. I am proud to work for SHE- it is a sweet job to get to talk about go! pads with girls every day.”

SHE Superpower: Vanishing Misconceptions

Pop quiz: Can a woman get pregnant while menstruating?
The answer is yes! 2,500 more students in Rwanda now know the answer thanks to our Menstrual Hygiene Day celebrations. Hear from Jeannette:

“The day started with a parade with 6 different schools participating. Afterward, we held quiz competitions and students held performances about menstrual hygiene. The best part of the day was seeing the students of SHE trained teachers speak and perform poems about menstruation. I was happy to see that the students who were trained, regardless of gender, were happy to speak about it publicly."

SHE Superpower: Unstoppable Design

Leaning into uncomfortable topics educates consumers and, as it turns out, is also great for business!  Former Johnson & Johnson designer, Aimee, designed an informative brochure on menstrual and reproductive health topics. Hear from Aimee here:

“As we gathered insights from the girls and women... we also learned that the girls had SO MANY questions. They were intimate questions that they did not feel comfortable asking their teachers, aunts, or older sisters. Thus the idea to create a pocket-sized educational pamphlet was born, as it allowed the girls easy access to all of their most pertinent sexual and reproductive health queries."

The Takeaway?

There’s plenty of good work happening in the world! If you want to change the world with us, one pad at a time, let us know! Feel free to reply back to this email with any ideas for collaboration or connections you might have. We've got big challenges ahead with expansion- it will take all of us doing what we can to reach scale!
